JUNETEENTH OREGON PARADE AND FESTIVAL Juneteenth Oregon celebrates the date in 1865 when Major General Gordon Granger read "General Order No. 3" in Galveston, Texas, declaring that all slaves were free. Juneteenth OR supports cultural diversity, which is important because communities, workplaces, and schools increasingly comprise various cultural and ethnic groups. Juneteenth encourages these communities to learn from each other to facilitate collaboration and cooperation.

CANNON BEACH SANDCASTLE CONTEST The Cannon Beach Sandcastle Contest has been an ongoing tradition in Cannon Beach since 1964, when an earthquake in Alaska triggered a tsunami that hit the Oregon Coast. Locals organized a community activity while waiting for the north-end bridge to be fixed.
This year, the contest will celebrate its 60th year on June 15. Join us on the beach and try your hand at building a sandcastle, or come to watch! Interested in what the weekend's activities will entail?

ARCADE 2084: THE BAR THAT TIME FORGOT Go back in time at Arcade 2084. This ’80s themed bar and arcade opened in Downtown Hillsboro, bringing a fun and retro experience to Main Street. The arcade includes your favorite old-school games like Jr. Pac-Man and Robotron 2084, ’80s music at all times and specialty themed cocktails to sip while you play.

PORTLAND BEER WEEK In Beervana, suds are celebrated every waking and drinking hour — but Portland’s PDX Beer Week takes that adoration for beer to the next level. Every June, PDX Beer Week features limited-edition brews, a lineup of events, and beer specials at bars and brewpubs citywide, overflowing with so much hop fever that the “week” spills into ten full days of thirst-quenching fun.
Special events like pairings, brewer’s dinners, seminars, neighborhood pub crawls, tap takeovers, and much more keep the beer and the fun flowing every year. Portland restaurants even get in on the PDX Beer Week celebration, often offering special beer-inflected products at local eateries.

ENCHANTED FOREST The Enchanted Forest has been a destination for Oregon children since it opened in 1971. Generations of kids have slid down the creepy witch slide, delighted in the Crooked Man’s house, and ridden on the carousel. The Enchanted Forest is a theme park – there is a section with carnival rides and a haunted house – but what most people remember is the creative world contained in the paths and structures of the park.

HAREFEST Harefest returns to the Clackamas County Fairgrounds & Event Center for a 3rd year and is expanding use of the facility to include even more RV parking and tent sites after selling out all overnight options well in advance of last year’s event. In all, over 400 overnight spaces are available for what’s been referred to as “The Coachella of Tribute Bands.”
The 3-day festival will feature 27 bands on three stages including tributes to QUEEN, JOURNEY, CREEDENCE CLEARWATER REVIVAL, RED HOT CHILI PEPPERS, DEF LEPPARD, AC/DC, HEART, EAGLES, KISS, BOSTON, ALABAMA, BEASTIE BOYS, MOTLEY CRUE, FOREIGNER, TOM PETTY, VAN HALEN, BLONDIE, FLEETWOOD MAC, OZZY OSBOURNE, STYX, STONE TEMPLE PILOTS, THE WHO, SCORPIONS, LYNYRD SKYNYRD, BON JOVI, HALL & OATES, and DOOBIE BROTHERS. Each night features a finale set in the Event Center’s courtyard (dubbed “Hippie Hollow” for the event) that includes a laser light show produced by Laser Gator.

THEATER IN THE GROVE PRESENTS: WAIT UNTIL DARK Theatre in the Grove presents the electrifying new rendition of the classic thriller Wait Until Dark. It is 1944 New York. Susan Hendrix, a recently blinded young woman, faces off against some dangerous con men searching for a seemingly innocuous item of interest hiding somewhere in her basement Greenwich Village apartment.

MUSSELS FROM BRUSSELS Wayfinder Beer will host the ‘Mussels from Brussels’ competition, pitting 5 breweries against each other for the best mussels sauce and beer pairings! This popular annual event will feature pFriem Family Brewers, ForeLand Beer, Wayfinder Beer, and Breakside Brewery against returning 2023 Mussels from Brussels champion – Block 15 Brewing.
Each attendee will be treated to a bowl of steamed mussels, a side of frites, a flight of 5 brewer-made mussel sauces, and a flight of 5 of their beers for only $40. The winner will be announced at 8 PM.

LENTS INTERNATIONAL FARMERS MARKET The Lents International Farmers Market (LIFM) is the only one in Portland with an intentional international focus. LIFM provides fresh, affordable and culturally appropriate produce to the diverse community of Lents neighbors. Founded in 2006 by a community of volunteers and then run by Zenger Farm, it is an important sales outlet for immigrant and new farmers and small food-business owners. The market features culturally specific products, including Northwest-grown traditional Mexican produce and Asian greens. |

OPEN AIR TRAIN RIDES Join the Oregon Rail Heritage Center for a 45-minute ride in open-air rail cars along the Willamette River in the heart of Portland. More than a thousand are bolted routes. We also offer miles of hiking and mountain biking trails. With clearly marked trails and paths in every direction, you can explore this urban oasis from any of its 40 access points.

HIKE - MULTNOMAH FALLS TRAIL Experience this 2.3-mile out-and-back trail near Bridal Veil, Oregon. Generally considered a moderately challengi...ng route, it takes an average of 1 h 30 min to complete. This is a very popular area for hiking, so you'll likely encounter other people while exploring. The trail is open year-round and is beautiful to visit anytime. Dogs are welcome, but must be on a leash.
