VETERANS DAY AT THE PORTLAND ZOO Nov. 11 The Oregon Zoo is proud to offer FREE admission on Veterans Day for military members, veterans and their families. Complimentary admission includes up to three tickets per active military personnel/veteran (four tickets total). Families of deployed military personnel will also be given free admission. To receive free admission on November 11, visitors must reserve tickets in advance online and, upon entry, present a military or veteran organization ID, discharge papers, or other official military identification. Families of deployed military personnel must also show an active duty ID.

OH, WHALE: DOCUMENTARY SCREENING AND PANEL DISCUSSION Nov. 12 Welcome to the Oregon premiere of Oh Whale — presented by Lucky Day and Sideyard Studios in conjunction with the Oregon Historical Society. The evening will begin with a meet-and-greet in the Tomorrow Theater foyer followed by the feature presentation of Oh Whale.Directly following the film, the audience will be treated to an interview with legendary journalist Paul Linnman, Director Winslow Crane-Murdoch, and Editor Corky DeVault conducted by Oregon Historical Society’s own Kerry Tymchuk.
When news anchor Paul Linnman arrived in Florence, OR on November 12, 1970, he had no idea that the story he was about to tell would forever define his career.
